  • As Pfizer strives to become the world's most valued company to a range of stakeholders that includes colleagues, FORTUNE magazine has returned Pfizer to its prestigious list of the "100 Best Companies to Work for in America" after a one-year absence due to the Pharmacia acquisition.

The recognition marks the fourth time for Pfizer, which has been selected each time it applied and been eligible for the honor. FORTUNE partners with the Great Places to Work Institute, a consulting firm, to produce the list. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on a survey of randomly selected employees.

Pfizer is frequently cited on other FORTUNE corporate lists, including "America’s Most Admired Companies" and “Global Most Admired Companies.” In October, 2004, Pfizer was listed for the sixth time on Working Mother magazine’s “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers.” In March 2005, for the fourth year in a row, Pfizer has been ranked in the top five of Training magazine's list of top 100 companies for colleague training. The company ranked No. 3.
In addition to have won awards for corporate governance and good citizenship, Pfizer also appeared on a list of "blue ribbon" organizations that distinguished themselves in 2002, a year in which the business world was rocked by scandal and bankruptcies.
