Pfizer China was Granted the Bright Contribution Award

Pfizer China was granted the "Bright Contribution Award" by the Chinese Foundation of Lifeline Express on October 12, 2008. Mr. Allan Gabor, Vice President of Asia Region, Mr. Ahmet Esen, Country Manager of Pfizer China, and employee volunteer representatives presented at the recognition and award ceremony. Mr. Allan Gabor received the award on behalf of Pfizer China

The award is to honor agencies, organizations, corporations and individuals who have made great efforts and contributions to a series of projects conducted by the Chinese Foundation of Lifeline Express. These projects help impoverished blind people in rural areas. Pfizer China along with 16 other corporations were awarded the
"Bright Contribution Award" and Pfizer China is the only awarded multinational corporation in the healthcare & pharmaceutical industry.

In 2008
, Pfizer China donated RMB 200,000 to help two rural schools install solar system that enables students to have solar baths. After Ningqiang County in Shanxi Province was badly damaged by the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, Pfizer China immediately provided RMB350,000 for purchasing earthquake relief commodities in order to help students in Ningqiang No.1 Middle school resume education as soon as possible. Pfizer China also encouraged its employees to volunteer in earthquake relief activities.

Since 2003, Pfizer China has made ceaseless efforts to support various poverty-relief projects under the Chinese Foundation of Lifeline Express. By now, Pfizer China has already provided over 3.35 million RMB including financial aids and artificial lenses to the Chinese Foundation of Lifeline Express. This award is another recognition Pfizer received for demonstrating how a good corporate citizen shoulders its corporate social responsibility.
