Pfizer has built on this legacy of dedication to the Chinese healthcare system by introducing innovative medicines, conducting educational campaigns programs for healthcare professionals and awareness educations, as well as actively shouldering its corporate social responsibilities to contribute to the promotion of healthcare development in China.
The first Pfizer plant in China opened in Dalian in 1989. The increasing integration of China into Pfizer's global operations led to the establishment in 1997 of the Pfizer Investment Corporation in Shanghai in 2004. In recognition of the pool of highly-skilled and talented scientists in China, Pfizer established its China Research and Development Center in Shanghai in 2005. In 2007, Pfizer Global Finance Shared Service Center (GFSS) established and Operation center in Dalian- GFSS Asia, which is one of the 3 global GFSS centers. The center is responsible for providing finance services to the Asia Pacific markets.
Pfizer's business presence in China has spread through over 100 cities nationwide with a total staff of nearly 4,000 and four state-of-the-art plants in Dalian Suzhou, and Wuxi. With an accumulated investment of more than USD500 million, we are one of the largest multinational pharmaceutical enterprises in China today.
